For all mayonnaise lovers who might wonder how one would make mayonnaise naturally and easily from their own kitchen, take a look at this vid in which our secrets are laid bare.. :o)
...As a side note.. this video kind of embarrasses me.. hehe.. okay, so I wasn't born to be in front of a camera. It's not my fault that words escape me when Steve says, "Ok, go!". So.. bear with me.. :oD.. and for the record, 1/4 cup honey, not two tablespoons!! (What can I say, we never measure anything.. who does, anyway?? :o).) And now that I've finished covering myself, here it is..
The recipe summed up:
2 farm fresh eggs
1/2 cup vinegar (apple cider vinegar is awesome)
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. mustard powder
1/4 cup honey :o).. hehee!
Oil of preference (extra virgin olive oil, sunflower oil, rice bran oil, etc.) added slowly as needed until desired consistency is reached (est. 4 cups oil total)
And to clarify, it tasted wonderfully amazing, as it always does.. I just thought my reaction was a little less than enthusiastic :o). (It's 'cause I was thinking, 'is this perfection yet..? A tad more honey..?' because that's always the way I am in the kitchen.. a bit of this, a dash of that, some more of that other stuff.. haha, my mother's daughter, for sure :o)!)
So anyway, we had/have fun with these videos.. hopefully they're somewhat informative, silly as they are ;o)! Also, next week's video will feature this creamy goodness, so be prepared..
Enjoy your mayonnaise! And if something isn't quite right... perhaps a bit more honey? :oD!
looks good ;)
ReplyDeleteCool! We had to give up our chickens so we don't have anymore farm fresh eggs. But I will still try this recipe!
