Sowing Seeds Together

This morning has found us all out in the garden sowing seeds together. There is something about burying a little seed into the cool loose soil and watching it's transformation I find gloriously magical. And there's something even more wondrous about sharing the experience with your family. After the toil of preparing the beds, sowing the seed together is sort of a silent commitment made as a family to stick around, care for the plants and see them through to harvest time together. I guess that's why newlyweds are supposed to plant their family tree together on their wedding day. Plant life and reproduction, it's amazing! Really, unexplainable; it's magical! :) Just a step below the magic of a newborn baby, I'd say. ;)

Here's a few pictures Stephen snapped this morning...

I watered the greenhouse first thing this morning. Such a lovely way to gently wake up!

Sleepy horsey. Aww, and the girls needed to trim his hooves too!

Good, he woke up... sorta. :)

The younger kids have been enjoying splashing in these shallow clear pools on warmer days.

Donna splashed herself silly yesterday, before settling down to build stone towers rising out of the water and exploring various aspects of the creek in her own two-year-old fashion.

I scrubbed some laundry this morning. Twas a very enjoyable morning task! Really satisfying...

A random topic of conversation a few nights ago was, "how many teeth do cows have?" You may go ahead and count, if you're curious. :)

Our garden looks really lovely right now. I'm so proud of it. Lots of different family member's contributions complete its look of absolute perfection, well, in our eyes. :)

God Bless your day today!

  1. Are you sure the conversation was "teeth" and not "teats"???

It looks so beautiful there! I miss it! Thank you for all the pics, and give Donna a kiss from me!

  2. Yea, this time it was teeth, as we were discussing having transposed the two, and nobody really knows (or cares, lol!) how many teeth a cow has exactly. :)
